Fire Door Safety Week – are your fire doors safe??

Following the awful tragedy at Grenfell Tower, Fire Door Safety Week has even greater relevance to building owners, landlords and occupiers.  ALL Wessex encourages all landlords to visit the Fire Door Safety Week website that presents important information about fire doors and landlord responsibilities.

Effective fire doors are crucial to the health and safety of residents and users of many buildings where they may need to ‘stay put’ until rescued by the fire service.

This year’s campaign is all about promoting valuable advice and resources to boost fire safety in shared and high-rise accommodation.

In 2017 Fire Door Safety Week aims to:

  • Increase awareness of fire safety regulations and responsibilities among our target groups (see right), including greater understanding of the critical role of fire doors.
  • Increase levels of involvement from BWF members and other industry stakeholders, through providing more resources and direct support.
  • Increase levels of support from Fire & Rescue Services around the country, which makes such a difference to local communities.
  • Beat last year’s overall reach and engagement rates, including further national media coverage and political support.

Fire Door Safety Weeks starts on 25th Sept – but why wait until then? Please pass on, you may save lives!
