The new regulation requiring landlords to install smoke detectors in all private rental properties, and carbon monoxide detectors in rooms with solid fuel appliances having been stalled by the House of Lords is now back on!

Strangely with no amendments to the original version, the regulations must be complied with before 1st October 2015.

The updated Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm (England) Regulations 2015 Q&A Booklet for the Private Rented Sector – landlords and tenants is available here.
